Series of 3 photographs that shows the fragmentation of a plastic bottle floating adrift at sea. It refers to the latest scientific studies on the fragmentation and breakdown of a plastic bottle by climatic agents, such as the Sun or waves themselves within a period of a year.
It is estimated that 1 bottle of water breaks up into 16 parts and each of those parts fragments into another 625 sub-parts of less than five millimetres.
The photo-degradation of plastics in the sea produces very toxic compounds, such as Bisphenol A, which end up being ingested by aquatic animals and pollute the water, once again reaching humans. It is these invisible plastic derivatives which pose the greatest danger in terms of plastic pollution.

Hace referencia a los últimos estudios científicos sobre la fragmentación y degradación de una botella de plástico por agentes climáticos, como el Sol o las propias olas en cuestión de un año.
Se estima que 1 botella de agua se fragmenta en unas 16 partes y cada una de éstas se divide en otras 625 subpartes de menos de cinco milímetros.
La fotodegradación del plástico en los mares produce compuestos muy tóxicos, como el Bisfenol A, que acaban siendo ingeridos por los animales acuáticos y contaminan el agua llegando de nuevo al humano. Son estos derivados invisibles del plástico los que suponen el principal peligro de la contaminación por plásticos.
